Bug with Batch render

The new Batch Render tool is quite useful but I still have two problems with it:

-It reverts to the PNG image format seemingly at random. I don't know what did make it work but I managed to get TGA files a few times. It's not by simply selecting "Options" and then the image format; most of the time you'll get PNG no matter what.

-Sometimes I can simply use the "Views" button and add NamedViews to the queue. But other times this button does nothing and I have to press the "File" button, select the file that is currently open and then add the NamedViews.

We have been away at a meeting with McNeel about Rhino 6.

I am not aware of any issues of file format switching to PNG, can you upload a model that it happens it.

The Views / NamedViews button only works if they file has already been saved. If the file has not been saved the two buttons will not work.

Here's what I did:

New file
Create geometry
Add HDRI environment
Add Floor
Adjust render settings
Assign materials
save 4 NamedViews
Save file
BR button
BR View button does nothing
Save file
BR View button works
Select 4 NamedViews
BR Options -> Select TGA file format
BR Start
Renders are saved as PNGs
Save file
BR Start
Renders are saved as PNGs
BR Options
Drop-down shows TGA as Image format. Press ok
BR Start
Renders are saved as PNGs
BR Options
Drop-down shows TGA as Image format. Press ok
Save file
BR Start
Renders are saved as PNGs
Exit Rhino
Open Rhino and file
BR window is empty
BR View -> select 4 NamedViews
BR Options -> Drop down shows PNG. Select TGA and OK
BR Start
Renders are saved as PNGs
BR Options
Drop-down shows TGA as Image format. Press ok
Save file
BR Start
Renders are saved as PNGs
V-Ray Options -> save output checked and filename set to "BR test.tga" -> close V-Ray options
BR Start
First render saved as "BR test.tga", subsequent renders not saved
V-Ray Options -> remove save output check
Save file
BR Start
Renders still saved as PNGs
BR window -> right-click -> Clear all
BR View -> Select 4 NamedViews
Save file
BR Start
Renders are saved as TGAs!!!

Conclusion: you have to add the views after the Option->Image type is chosen and after the file is saved.
So the UI should be different, like a window where we choose everything and when we click OK all is set.
