no material preview in material editor

I have no material preview at all in the material editor but i can see the bitmappreview in the texture editor. I have vray 2.0 and rhino 5 64 bits. What is wrong? I really need the preview otherwise i have to render parts which takes way too much time.

I have a user that has no preview in his Material editor. He is on the same version as me (25462) and I do have previews...

As a first step please make sure Rhino is closed and try locating and opening the file: C:\ProgramData\ASGVIS\V-Ray For Rhino.ini

Use notepad to open it. At about the 5th line you should see the text:
previewScene=C:\\ProgramData\\ASGVIS\\Common\\x64\ \vc10\\Python26\\lib\\site-packages/MaterialPreviewScene.xml

Delete that line entirely so that the second group of text looks like this:
[Material%20Editor%20Preview]
liveUpdate=0
renderOnlyTopLevel=0

Save the file and open Rhino then attempt to preview your material. Please let us know if this corrects the issue, we are investigating it as a new bug.
