  • Bug with V-Ray proxy

In some scenes I have several V-Ray proxies, inserted as Rhino blocks, that won't show in renders, while others do.

In the V-Ray progress window I see the message "Mesh file "//path/filename.vrmesh" linked successfully."

Any idea what could be the cause?

    What version of V-Ray?

Still trying to get this scene work with V-Ray proxies...
Started from scratch and this time a test render did not finish the Light Cache calculation within 12 hours and 5 render hosts.
All 6 computers maxed their 16GB of RAM and were paging the disk drive.
Aren't proxies supposed to diminish RAM usage?

I thought light cache couldn't use DR, only the local machine?

Can you pack and send me the scene? I would like to look at it and give you a precise solution.

              Hi Fernando,
I cannot share this scene, it's several GB with all the VRMESH files. And I don't quite have the time to search and debug the matter, I'm in production now; every minute counts.
I'll see if I come by a scene the shows the problem and is not too big.

And any idea why I sometimes see "Scene is empty" in the progress window?
