  • Hidden objects are not ignored as geometry payload when rendering

In Rhino, layers that are off are not taken in account when rendering with vray however, hidden objects even though they don't display or render, they are still loaded in memory by the renderer. So if I have a big scene and I hide all objects except one, the inithial phase before starting the GI computations is the same as if all objects are visible. Not very efficient.

Good to know. I could imagine that this is caused by Rhino and not Vray. I hope it can be fixed by one of the teams.

Very good to know. What if the geometry is in a frozen layer, not just turned off?

I guess you mean locked. It still renders normally and so do frozen objects
