  • Displaying a single tile in the viewport

I think that this is more an issue with the inter-connection vray-Rhino than an actual bug. Nevertheless it would be nice to have it fixed.
When I create a material with a texture and I want to use it as decal, I simply uncheck tiling in the bitmap and I set the planar mapping to the area where I want the image to display. It renders properly as single tile, however the viewport in render mode still shows a tiled image instead of a single tile.
The workaround I found is, once I have applied the non-tiling material:
1.- Change current renderer to Rhino
2.- Go to material and untick plug-in so the material becomes a Rhino material
3.- I go to the rhino material and click on the map link in "color" within the "texture" tab
    4.- Enable "decal"
5.- The tile now displays as a single tile in the viewport.
    6.- Switch renderer to Vray
7.- Enable "plugin" in the material
(the steps would be similar if you use material bylayer but clicking first on the particular layer's material column)

So, Rhino can handle properly the single or multiple tiling. It's just that vray doesn't pass the message to Rhino to change the tiling in the display.
So it would be great that vray does all of the above for you. Or perhaps someone can write a script to do that while this is being fixed ?
