I am creating a render through Rhino using vray and am getting artifacts/black-streaks across a few of the surfaces. They can clearly be seen on the left and right wall as well as the floor. The surfaces are simple planes, so they should be entirely uniform in texture and color. I don't know what is creating the artifacts. I have rectangular lights in front of the walls, but even when I turn them off the artifacts remain. Any ideas on how to solve?

those are weird. without seeing the file it's hard to diagnose, but the usual culprits are:

    - overlapping geometry - make sure you don't have multiple surfaces overlapping
    - bad geometry - try hiding objects one at a time or in groups until the artifacts go away. if they disappear, you know that they are associated with a particular object and can rebuild it
    - bad meshes - try using the clearallmeshes command to delete your old render mesh and build new ones
    - bad rhino file - try importing the geometry into a clean rhino file that doesn't exhibit this issue

    hope that helps!

      Hi All,

I think I found the issue. Strangely enough, I think the lines are actually very hard shadows caused by an improper shadow bias and excessive ambient occlusion. I recalibrated both and everything is fine now. Thanks!
