I am using Vray V3 and cannot save the alpha channel. I go through the save rgb no problem, then do exactly the same to save alpha channel but re-name the file, the save window closes but in the folder there is no alpha channel file? I have tried saving as png, jpeg and tiff, still the same, any ideas?

Hi,
This is a known issue and our developers are currently working on a solution, which should be implemented in an upcoming hotfix update.
In the meantime, as a temporary workaround, you could also use the 'Save Image' option (Asset Editor > Settings > Render Output) prior to initiating a render process. When the render is complete, the produced image will be automatically saved along with all render channels.

Hello,
For an alternative workaround, please see the following thread:

This is the post I was referring to:
Originally posted by Peter.Chaushev(...) You can use the "Save Render Settings to File" button at the bottom of the Asset Editor's Settings panel. Then open the file and edit the img_separateAlpha parameter value in the .vropt file to 1, save the changes and load the edited file into V-Ray using the "Load Render Settings from File" button.
This way you can keep changing your render settings afterwards without having to manually edit the vrscene each time you want to render. This only affects the specific project.
Resetting the render options will restore the default .vropt file.Peter Chaushev
