  • Interpolation feature (VfR2 to VfR3 compatibility)

I'm very curious for VfR 3.6. At the moment I use VfR2 and can't test it at the current VfR3. Is or will be the enabled interpolation of refl/refract (VfR2 material option) be ignored or reset so that no strong artefacts are seen at VfR3 renders anymore? It was one of the big problems in the past. Since this option is not available at the VfR3 UI anymore, it can't be corrected at the user side. For example often I used it at train interior walls.

    Hello,

This option is not going to be reintroduced. It is actually no longer part of V-Ray's v3.6 core.
Initially it has been created with the idea to approximate glossy reflections/refractions and save time at the expense of quality(precision). Since v3.0 V-Ray is fast enough to negate the gain this parameter could previously offer.

    Kind regards,
    Peter

Great, so the artefacts caused by the hidden enabled interpolation feature of the old v2 materials should be gone now.

      Thank you.
