Non-hidden .VRSCENE proxies always render to both eye rays and secondary rays regardless of the state of the Visible/Skip Rendering checkboxes. If this behavior is as designed, the checkboxes should be disabled for .VRSCENEs.

Hello,
Thank you for catching this! It is not intended behavior. One of our developers will take a look at it.
These UI elements are scheduled for improvement for one of the upcoming updates.
Kind regards,

Thanks Peter. As a secondary issue, I don't see the VRay tab of the Rhino Properties panel covered anywhere in the documentation.
As a result, can you clear up some confusion? I expected the "Visible" checkbox to mimic the behavior of "only in secondary rays" in the material, but instead it seems to just completely hide the object, which seems no different from "skip rendering."

You can find both descriptions here:
https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...esV-RaySection
In both cases the object will not be visible in the rendered image, however "exclude from rendering" will altogether exclude the object from being exported to the renderer.
Kind regards,
