Material Environment Overrides and Dome Light interaction

hi there Chaos users.

I am finding that when I use the Vray dome light work flow rather than a sun light setup the Material Environment Overrides do not render.
I want one material in particular to reflect something different- which I can do using sunlight etc.
They do show up in the material preview panel. Is this always the case or am I missing something.

Set the Dome Light as invisible and use the same texture in the Environment Background slot. Adjust the background and env. override intensity values if needed.
