  • Render in high resolution crashes

    Hi,

    I'm rendering a facade with V-Ray for Rhino, version 3.60.03 adv ( Jul 3 2018 ) on Rhino5 64 bits.
Any width for the render above 14.000 pixels cases crash (IM+LC). Actually the 14.000 pixel render crashed too but nearly the end of the calculation.
I have turned off the GPU but it seems my graphic card is crashing. I have tried the option to save the image on the local drive (Tiff 16 bit), same pleasure.
It is basically ruining my days at work and I don't know what exercise should I do to case it work! My scene is well optimized, I have Sun (without heavy HDRI)..

Seeing the Image Width/Height on Render Output Option the tip indicates the maximum size of 10.000.000 pixels?

I know nothing can be done,... but just saying what is going to user super computer (Xeon CPU E5-2698 v4 @2.2 Ghz, 20 Cores, 40 Logical Processors / Quadro M4000 / SSD / 32 GB RAM)

How looks the graph of the RAM usage? Maybe 32GB are not enough.

      Hello,
When producing imagery of such size the combined memory usage of rendering the image and displaying it in the VFB and then writing it on disk most likely overwhelms your system.
Please consider where your work will be displayed and the distance it will be viewed from to determine the optimal render/print size.
An earlier discussion on this topic, including a workaround for excessive memory usage, can be found at https://forums.chaosgroup.com/forum/...ge-render-size
Please read it thoroughly (including the referenced article) and let me know if you have any further questions!

      Kind regards,
      Peter
