  • How stable is VRay Next?

So I am considering upgrading VRay but I waited until more of the bugs were removed. How is the latest VRay these days with rhino 6?

I use it nearly 100% now. There are a few problems and you find an overview here:
    https://forums.chaosgroup.com/forum/...ha#post1044335

Most are not critical and you can work around. For example if you don't save during an interactive rendering, than you shouldn't see crashes. Only GPU rendering of complex scenes could cause crashes, if you don't use a separate GPU for display use. Some bugs need some patient, for example the slow down of the LC pass at high res renderings.

Are you using v3.6 or v2? If you use v3.6 than you will not have the problem of some missing features from v2 and you a familiar with the "new approach" (not to use subdivs anymore).

All together Vray for Rhino Next is on a good way, I like the quality, features and speed (2x2080ti most). Only the development could be faster, some bugs are quite old now.

      My Vray Next crashing constantly.
One bug that happens all the time and causes freezing or immediate crash is when I click on SAVE button while doing interactive render. Try it on your own it's very easy to reproduce.

I hope this crash bug will be fixed soon.

Otherwise I used V-Ray next very often now and it's very stable, no crashes so far I can remember me.

Could you please update to the latest available version, 4.00.02 and confirm whether the behavior you've described is still reproducible? https://download.chaosgroup.com/down...o-56-40002-adv

Any additional info about this problem would be appreciated!

          Kind regards,
