  • Vray Material Specific Texture Mapping

Hello, I have downloaded the lilypad asset shown below and intend to render it using vray. The asset came as a .obj file with materials included and mapped (as rhino materials not vray materials). Can anyone explain how I can remap this texture to the object using a vray material? I can create the material with the shown texture in the diffuse layer as a bitmap, but I cannot figure out what mapping I should use so that the textures correctly align with the objects.

    Thanks for any help!

The texture should be aligned without additional work. The OBJ mesh should contain the right texture UV coordinates independent from the used render engine. You should see the right texturing also per simple Rhino material and rendered viewport.

      Hello, thanks for your reply.

So is there a particular type of mapping I should apply (box/ surface etc?) or should I just delete all mapping completely from the object?

      Thanks for your help

You don't need to touch the mapping options. Per default the UV of the object surfaces are used. Anything should be fine.
