  • Rhino 7 WIP ready for daily projects? (I'm curious for users and support team opinions.)

    Hi,

since Rhino 7 get fixes of Rhino 6 issues I ask me, is it ok to use Rhino 7 for projects? And if I would like to jump back to Rhino 6, could I save the project to Rhino6 3dm and use the V-Ray setup from Rhino 7 at Rhino 6?

The ability to install V-Ray Next for Rhino WIP (v7) was added due to popular demand.
Overall, there are no major cases of hindered or changed V-Ray functionality when using Rhino 7 WIP in comparison to Rhino 6.
Identical results and functionality, however, cannot be guaranteed due to the WIP status of the host app and the risk of breaking changes. Only after Rhino 7 is commercially released, official support will be a fact.

I recommend being at least a bit cautious when using any software in active pre-release stage of development for commercial projects. In terms of V-Ray functionality, we don't expect any surprises.
If you stumble upon any issues while using V-Ray Next in Rhino 7 WIP, please reach out to us either here or by email to support@chaosgroup.com
