  • How to get rough edges ?

    Hi,

    I want to get some rough edges like the dish in the picture. What is the correct workflow ? With displacement map or blend 2 maps ?

    You can try with a blend material, and using a curvature map or dirt map as mask.

      Hi kristmas,

      This is not easy to achieve with displacement.
      If you want to do it you actually need to UV unwrap the mesh and sculpt the displacement in ZBrush or Mudbox (or another sculpting app).
      There is basically no easy procedural way to achieve this.
      Note that neither the Dirt nor the Curvature maps will work for displacement.

      Naturally the bumpy wood texture can be achieved with a displacement or even bump/normal map but the rounded and imperfect edge topology itself should be modeled.
