Export to VRAY Mesh and MultiMaterial

I’m going through VRAY 3.X Tutorials using Rhino 7 and VRAY NEXT. The Lesson 2 section on Proxy/Export.

When I Export the VRAY Proxy object to the VRMesh, I do not get the resulting VRAY Multi-Material that is supposed to appear in the Asset Editor as the tutorial tells you will happen. Am I doing something wrong, or is that a change in NEXT from VRAY 3.x?

The MultiMaterial is a legacy workflow and in its place a more optimized one has been introduced. When a proxy is exported and replaced in scene, the materials used for each faceID are part of the vrmesh asset in the Geometries tab
