  • Plants / Mapping / Rendering

Hi Guys can you help me out here, there is couple of things that I do not understand fully I think. I've been browsing through a lot of materials online how to do realistic plants and trees but I never can replicate the result. Maybe you can point me to a good online source ?

First of all do you know where one can buy a library of plants already mapped correctly and turned into proxies for Vray / Rhino?

Secondly how does Rhino/Vray recognises the mapping of texture on any specific leaf ? Image 1 -3

Thirdly when I apply the texture of the same leaf but rotated, it all rotates too. It makes sense but how it knows which leaf is straight and which one is not. Is there a way to set it up to use one texture per leaf stretched and centered ? I am using opacity to clip the remainings of the texture. Image 4

How do you create and apply textures for singular and joint stems ? In this case I have created grassy texture and applied it to the whole form. I tried to cut a singular steam out but that doesn't work for complex form, additionally not sure how it would work for a singular steam wrapped around it. Image 5

    Regards,
    Jarek

Similar problem I am having with the tree bark, it shows seams everywhere and I am not sure how to remove them. Image 6

Lastly any idea why leaves on the tree come out always so dark ? I always have to make them much brighter in photoshop and use that brighter texture instead. Image 7-8

Lastly by the looks of it exterior assets are done by any other platforms but Rhino....is that true ? For instance : https://www.laubwerk.com/products/

For you mapping issues - it depends on your model and yours looks like a low poly low quality model only. If you have a good model you don't need to think about seams and not matching textures. The texture placement is defined by UV coordinates of the mesh model. Seams are caused by not seamless textures or UV jumps at your model.

I don't work on architecture scene often so I don't know where to by good models.
