  • vray camera

    Hello,

is it possible to have a vraycamera in Rhino, a bit like in 3dsmax, as an object that you can edit (position and viewpoint + all the ISO/exposure parameters) ?

    Thanks!

Per F6 you can see the control points of the camera and per named view manager you can enable a camera symbol. ISO/exposure are not available per camera, only as global option. I disable V-Ray exposure always and never miss it. It make only trouble. (Lens length dependent exposure is a pain for me.)

Ok, that i know, but i was hoping i could adjust manually the camera settings per camera. When you have several point of views (inside/outside,depending on the sun) it's soo much easier.

Ah, I understand. So far I know it's on the wishlist. I would like to use a shift correction per view.

Sidenote: fortunately I don't render interior/exterior of the same scene most and so the scene brightness is quite constant. I try to work with disabled exposure since it cause a brightness change dependent from the lens length. For stills it could be a solution to save an adjusted ISO for every view with another lens length.

Saving different V-Ray settings in Rhino snapshots is possible. Would this suffice your needs?

          Kind regards,

Yes indeed, i saw there was also a way of dealing with grasshopper, but, for real, is it that hard to set up vray cameras directly in rhino ?

It is not out of question, I'll add your request to our notes on this subject.
Implementing this feature on V-Ray's side and modfying the existing V-Ray UI would actually be a major undertaking. The functionality itself is rather simple but the workflow changes that should accompany it may require a lot more effort while at the same time partially duplicate Rhino's own functionality.
