Hi andrew_maclaggan,
It is till possible by adding a Displacement attribute to your material (see screenshot), however, this is a legacy attribute and will be removed in the future - we'd advise you to use the geometry displacement modifier instead. To read more about it, please visit https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/VRHINO/DisplacementLast edited by nikoleta.garkova; 13-05-2021, 01:49 AM.Nikoleta Garkova | chaos.com

Thanks nikoleta.garkova . I will do that.
I am curious why it needs to be removed, it seems like a good thing to have multiple paths to achieve a result. In this case I need to apply the displacement to a material because I have no control over the individual element which is a part of a larger element. The larger element (a piece of topography) is generated by a plugin which allows me to divide the surface into different regions by material but that's all the control I have over each individual piece. In this case, I would like the roads to be displaced up or down, and a displacement map seems ideal for that.
