  • Organize the material list inside the V-ray Asset Editor

There is a way to organize the material list inside the V-ray Asset Editor? I mean, I would like to change the order of the list of the materials (it seems that they are listed in alphabetical order without the possibility to change this order).
    Thanks,
    Roy

    Hey lopez67,

Currently no, I'm afraid, but we can log an improvement request. Can you give more feedback/suggestions on what you want to be able to do?

The ability to group materials would be nice and the ability to enable/disable the group, and a clickable column header to sort would be my suggestions.

With many materials in the scene could be nice to have the option to create some folders in the asset editor to group and easily find the materials...it's only for a better organization, thanks

          Thanks, guys!

This is now logged under WEBUI-6034, and we'll make sure to let you know whenever we get more input from our developers on the subject.

            Roy, Richard, appreciate your feedback!
Some of our developers are already working on a feature aimed at organizing assets easier and faster.
Your feedback, relayed by Nikoleta, is already shared with them.

            Kind regards,
            Peter

Are there any updates on this? things start to get very cluttered in large scenes and being able to organize assets really would be very helpful.

                Hello ryan_howell!

Yes, we implemented (since V-Ray 6.00.00) a Tags system used for grouping the scene assets in the Asset Editor.
                More information here: https://docs.chaos.com/display/VRHIN...r-AssetTagging
