  • Normal map type - DX x GL

    Hello,
    what's the correct normal map for V-Ray? Polyhaven offers both "DX" and "GL" option and they seem to be inverted.

    Use the purplish one/ the GL one.
    The map may seem inverted(don't mind it) but when you render it should be fine.

        Hi Jonish,

        In V-Ray the following should be true for a normal map to render correctly (V-Ray for 3ds Max is an exception):
        • The Red channel should be pointing right
        • The Green channel should be pointing up
        This texture for example looks correct:
