  • Cosmos trees rendering black

    Hello,

When I render this scene with Vray Cosmos trees, they come out almost completely black. I checked to make sure they weren't being overridden by another material that has a black contour, as shown in the second image. Does anyone have a quick fix?

Looks like you have Vraytoon on and it's creating an outline on each individual leaf (making it look black). Exclude the trees from Vraytoon and all should look correct.

      Hi max_sterry,

What response explained is correct - the toon lines are darkening the plants.
However, excluding them from the toon effect is not trivial.
In fact the only way it can kind of be done is by using a the Toon Override material attribute.
This is obviously not gonna work for non-merged Cosmos assets.

To be honest I think we should address this by adding an exclude option for the Global contours or a Cosmos asset-specific option that disables the effect for the specific asset.
In any case, thank you for bringing this to our attention.
