  • iridescent material in Vray for Rhino

I am trying to render an iridescent material and cannot find anything on this subject for V-Ray for Rhino only 3d max and Maya. I was hoping someone else has tried and succeeded in making an iridescent material I can learn from. Thank you.

And yet! Among the main features of VfR 6:

    Iridescent materials
Oil spills, soap bubbles, and other iridescent surfaces are easy to make with the V-Ray Material’s new Thin Film option.

This Cinema 4D tutorial could guide us a bit:

      Hello,

The "Thin Film" option works the same way in all V-Ray integrations. You need to switch to Advanced Settings of the Generic material in order to see the option. You can check out the Docs page - https://docs.chaos.com/display/VRHINO/Generic+Thin+Film. Let me know if you have any questions about the properties.

      Kind regards,
      Iva
