  • V-Ray for Rhino: Realistic Water Caustic Effect (Mine comes out too spotty)

    Hello, I'm a V-Ray for Rhino newbie/

I'm currently trying to create a water surface on the ceiling that allows the sunlight to go through so that the room inside the space has a caustic effect.
I guess the post from Chaos helped a lot: https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/a...y-for-SketchUp
(I'm basically using the same setup as the V-Ray for SketchUp from the post)
However, I couldn't find any V-Ray for Rhino Tutorials about Caustic Effect and its reflection

So, I want something like this below. (the caustic effect around the room):

    However, my results are:
    1. Super spotty light particles around the box room:

    2. Then, I tried turning off the caustics and using a projecting light. However, it looks very fake like patterns on the wall

Does anyone know how to make it more realistic/ natural and more abundant caustic effect throughout the room?

    Hello nicole_kim,

The Settings needed for the Caustics depend greatly on the scene and the lighting. You can find some example setups in our Docs page - https://docs.chaos.com/display/VRHIN...l+Illumination .
Could you attach your scene in the thread or send it to me via private message, so I could try to adjust them?

    Kind regards,
    Iva
