Not in the current build. We reorganized the material editing process and left the Vraylight material out for now. Hopefully this will be back in for the next build.
yes I apologize for that, but I am in the process of getting all of that stuff back in order (returning bump mapping, light material, and some new stuff)
Will it be possible to use HDRIs on objects as emitter. For example I like to use a plane outside the window to get a realistic lighting of rooms.
If somebody is interested here a link to special realistic lighting of rooms from me. Befor I have not seen a tutorial in CG about this subject. Hope you like the idea.
For commercial puproses, you will probably never need this because no client will want that effect on the walls. I think it will only occur if like in your picture on maxwell forum, the building outside is lit by strong sunlight. Som much light bounces off that it will reach into your room.
This will be possible from the moment textures are fully supported and you can use a hdri as a texture too. It will require long rendertimes though.
In vray for max there is a new feature, hdri mapped dome light. If they would make this for the rectangular lights too, that would be ideal for what you're trying to do.
That's an extreme example of realistic lighting
...
This is realy an extrem example, but you will find this effect in many rooms with medium or small windows. The ground of the room is blueish and the ceiling is darker, brownish or greenish.
Sometimes I have seen renderings with a big white arealight in the windows. The ceiling get to much bright light, like if snow is outside or the room is at the 12 floor of a skycraper. The lighting show no variation at the room. Most the lighting looks very clean.
I think for special commercial renderings with an agile atmosphere it could be nice. The last piece of realism.
