  • Feedback on mapping - build 7

I'm getting hit and miss results with mapping, more misses unfortunately. Add a map with V-Ray then add mapping with Rhino and tried changing the size and only a couple of times did it work.

Is this working for any one else?

It looks to be a good tool, and the mapping widget is nice to have for on screen adjustments.

When using Surface UV I noticed you can't change the size, is this planned to be hooked up? It's really a necessity to have for scaling textures.

    Thanks,
    Glen

I'm afraid I don't really have the answers for the mapping as it is a McNeel tool. Just remember that EACH time you change the mapping you MUST change the scene in some way to make the geometry table get processed and have the mapping changes actually take effect. The easiest way to do this is to just edit a material and then immediately hit ok. This is required because in Rcm's current beta state it does not generate an event that tells Rhino that the scene has been changed when the mapping has been altered.

This may explain your "only a couple times it worked" issues.

      Hi Joe,
Sorry for not getting back to you sooner on this. I tried what you said about editing the material (also tried changing a lot of other things) but it still won't change. Using TreeFrog for rendering the mapping works fine so there shouldn't be an issue with mapping, but for some reason the mapping won't change with V-Ray.

      Thanks,
      Glen

please send a scene to me with the problem as well as a short description of what you are trying to do and what is not working, etc. I'll see if we can figure something out. Thanks
