  • Subdivs versus samples

In the irradiance map, what is the difference between "subdivs" and "samples" ? Aren't subdivs actually samples ?

Trying to figure it out from here, but I am still unsure:

Samples are points in space where GI light is calculated. Subdivs are the quality of the light in these samples.

      Thanks Wouter,

So basically, samples are points in space and Subdivs are number of rays per each point in space. Right ?

        Yes

Do some tests with 'show samples' in IR map settings turned on. Then you clearly see the effect on sample distribution if you change for example the clr treshold.

Yup, I am all over it now (both on tests and documentation)
