I'm new to VRay and I'm having quite a time getting my surfaces to look very good ... they look very flat and lack the nice specular that I'm used to seeing. I have filleted the edges of this bench, and I'm not gettign a nice highlight.
So far the only way that I can control the specular shape is to enable Reflections, and change adjust the highlight glosiness value. A value of one gives me a very crisp and almost pin point highlight, and a medium to low value gives me a more spread out specular across the entire surface.
I have been unable to create a good looking material that is black, has a nice gloss, and has a highlight along the filleted edge. Any suggestions?
Almost like a gloss paint finish, or a good plastic shader. Any help on teh basics would be very much appreciated. Thanks.
(I'll add links to my files shortly)
