it could be nice to get the Vray online help as complete download for offline use. Is it possible to get it somewhere?

There was a download available for this a long time ago, before I got a broadband connection, it was compiled from the online help in the form of a PDF by one of the users. I didn't download load it because it was 100mb+, probably due to the very high resolution render samples.

The problem with VRay help being made available for download is that VRay is in an ever evolving state atm (but then again what isn't?), and it would be out of date very fast indeed. I do agree that there should be some documentation that is made available for download but the massive bandwidth requirements for serving a huge help file would be tremendous.

You should read up in the VRay forum at Chaos Software's site, its also an invaluable resource and most of the settings that are used by people in their scenes can be applied within VRay for Rhino.

Well, last time we tried it, it was 100+ MB with the images converted to .jpgs to save space. I know that this has been requested a number of times so maybe we'll be able to compile an abridged version of it.

Thank you for the reply. I have got a mirror of the web site now. Good tool -Httrack is an open source software which allow to mirror a whole website and update it from time to time - http://www.httrack.com/.

hmm, seems as we vray for rhino users are not fully worthy vray users, as it has to be discussed first.
i was also looking forward to being finally able to post in the chaosgroup forum, as it is such a huge ressource. who knows if we will ever be able to join?

Are you guys are aware that there is a VRay Fee section that you can post in (as long as you register in the forum)? Some of the "official" users do read and post answers to questions there too.

I suggest making it clear that you are VRay for Rhino beta testers, I am sure more people will help you then.

Thomas: I believe that's the public forum that got locked due to abuse, btw really nice hydraulics render and model.

Might I suggest to all that post on the VRay forum to also post a duplicate here in the appropriate section on the VRay for Rhino forum as well as any follow-ups they may get with credits to the person that helped them. This will ensure that we have a full mirrored repository of the post on the ASGVis forum too.
