  • Primary and Secondary Engine

For my primary, I have it set to Irradiance Map. Secondary is Light Cache. The light cache was generated first, and then the irradiance map.

I was expecting irradiance map to calculate first. Why does light cache generate first?

    Primary and Secondary Engine

    Bill,

I like an other method that helps to get small details of the scene -> QMC/LC. The LC as secondary engine is calculating the lighting of the whole scene with all surfaces, also the from the camera view not visible surfaces. Than primary engine calculate the direct visible surfaces only.
I like on Vlados method (QMC-LC), that the LC calculate a GI appoximation with many light bounce like Maxwell, but than the the engine stop and makes a fine QMC calculation based on the light calculation of the LC pass.

The IM-LC method is analog, but the IM does more an appoximation at small details and is not so stable like the QMC.
