  • Applyng materials

I done loaded the latest build and cannot apply materials the same way.
When I go into the material editor (via plug-in,create), select the diffuse tab and select lower case 'm" I used to have a column pop up which let me navigate to my materials, which now no longer appears. Is there another way to import and apply materials now?
Also, any tips on scaling materials or where I might find out?

    Thanks,

    deanh,

After pressing the m mapping button you should get a dialog that is has a title of V-Ray Texture editor. It should look like this:

Beside the red arrow there is a combo box that allows you to choose between different map types. In your case it sounds like you would like to use a bitmap for a texture. So choose bitmap from the combo box- in the texture editor the workspace should fill with parameters for the bitmap mapping type. In the Bitmap static text box you will see File with another m mapping button. Once you choose this m you will get a dialog that will allow you to select your map file.

I believe for issues of scaling you are asking about scaling your texture maps. For this you will use the RCM mapping tools. So select the object you wish to change the mapping on. Get the object properties dialog and choose Mapping from the top combo box (where you usually choose material to edit a vray material). Here you will have to Add a mapping channel and choose a mapping type. Then you can use various settings, size, tiling, etc to manipulate your texture map.

    I hope this helps.
