Missing Render Setting and Materials?

I saved a rhino file with some Vray settings and materials. When I passed this file to a coworker who is also working with Vray we got the "missing render settings" and "missing materials" errors...continue or go back to Rhino? Why is this and how do I save the files with the information?

Have you all installed SR5 for Rhino? If not install it and try this scene transfer again.

Yes I have SR5. I got it to open once but can't figure it out again. It's losing the render definition and material settings. Do I have to export the materials and transfer them along with the Rhino file?

Can you try to save your materials and render options?

In the material workspace if you right click on the material name you can export the materail to a vismat material file. In the render options you can select file and save your settings as visopts settings file.

I'm trying it right now. I do have to select each material individually to save. It would be nice to have a Material Listing or Manager.

Are you both using the saem build of V-Ray for Rhino? What build of VfR are you using? Is it possible for you to send me the file you are working on?

Missing Render Setting and Materials?

The builds should be backward compatible, but they will not be forward compatible. Meaning files saved under 13.1 will not open under 12.1 but files saved on 12.1 should open for 13.1.
