  • texture, how to?

    and again....
You must think we in sweden are a bit stupid.

I dont get the texture thing working.
In the properties i choose create a material.
in the diffuse layer i cklick the little m beside the color in the difusse menu. V ray texture editor pops up. But then...
How can i browse for a texture file? I don?t find it. Do I need a new pair of glasses?

I really have to say that the missing of a manuall couses many problems. The help filles are very thin.

    thanks for the help!!

    texture, how to?

... under "type" in the last dialog choose "bitmap" as the option, then one more hit at the "m" and now you can browse...

but I agree that there should be a shortcut of some kind to get to the browsing state for simple difuse mapped materials...

    best regards

    Andy

        I have the same problem

I have the same problem. I want to create a new shader and apply let's say a wood texture. I must be also retarded... I try to follow the instruction above but I can't see any way to input path to file. Whan I click on the m next to color and this only get me to a blank material editor with only couple dialog box: type, multiplier. Where is the "type" mentioned earlier?
would I have a bug in my material editor window which don't show anything?[/img]

          texture, how to?

In the diffuse layer off your objekt klick the m witch is near the color field.
In the pop up chose in the common box the roll down menu. The first you see there is none and bulge. If you scroll throu it you will find the option bitmap.
In the bitmap box klick the m again and there you go.
thats how it works for me
