  • Apply floor wood texture

    Hi all

    I'm very new to V-ray and I can't create a wood floor.
My goal is something like PIF Cryocenter floor.

    My steps are:

1-I have the floor in one layer and then assign a material and then in difuse I try to select my wood jpg but I don't know why but I get this strange color in my image.

Is this the right way to apply this material or just the Rhino basic material + texture is enoughf??

      Apply floor wood texture

... I use png now, because there is a bug for jpg.

Also I would disable the map filter. The default option cause a very blury texture. I hope it will be disabled once a day or did somebody like to use the midmap blur 1 per default?

        Apply floor wood texture

The JPG preview bug is fixed for the next release.

Filtering can be turned off globally under the global switches. All you have to do is Disable filter maps.

          Apply floor wood texture

Corey, last I have render a scene with one grid texture and many other textures. The grid show me antialiasing problems so I must use a filter on it. I must open every other texture dialog and set the filter to 0 and only the grid texture has got 0.5.
My suggestion is to set the filter per default to 0 or 0.2. The value 1 produce very blury textures. I ask me, who is using this high bluriness per default? I have the feeling, it could be a pitfall for beginners and for user like me it is not so good for the workflow to set the filter at 0 for 99% of my textures.

I'll turn the default down to 0 or something very low I've added that to my list of things.

Thanks to all I'm using png images now and they work ok.

I gave a quick look at the bugs list and seems this one is allredy fixed, so no need to report it.

              Once again thanks
