I before E except after C....we never said we were good spellers...
But why then do you write 'either', and is it 'weird' or 'wierd'?
Because English is the worst language in the history of the world. It makes no sense and I feel terrible for anyone who has to learn it as a second language.
It is spelled "weird" - I'm sure some English scholar probably has another rule to explain the spelling of those words. I before E except after C or if it starts with E or W
