Hi all

I'm trying to create a Christmas ball with the Rhino logo reflection on it but although this seems easy I'm finding it very hard to create a really good looking image.

I made a very fast 3D model of a ball and i inserted rhino logo but I just can't make something worth to send out like Christmas card.

Anyone willing to help?

I'm fighting with a project yet, but I recommend to use a HDRI environment.

in the perspective view, do a right click on perspective.
then SHOW CAMERA.
now reproduce a line between target and camera.
Then do a reflection ray to see where to place your rhino.
Then tweak and rotate and scale your rhino without moving your camera.
Then you should have it.

Why do reflection? Why not insert the R logo halfway inside the ball as if it were part of the ball (like embossed)? And have it curve a little to follow the curvy nature of the ball. You know what I mean?

If you want to put the Rhino logo on the ball I'd suggest taking it to Rhino 4 and using the Splop command. Its accurate enough to have the logo raised, or trim it out of the ball as well.

I think he wanted to have a small reflection. a kind of glimpse humour to rhino. Not completely a rhino bumped on the surface. a "Rhino in background" feeling.

Actually I made this image but I don't like it so much, any sugestions ?

I belive I still have a LONGGGGGGGGgggggggggggg road ahead, so feel free if you want to download my model and give it a try
