  • Tutorials Page

I was browsing the tutorial page on the website. It's a bit odd. There are 2 pages of tutorials, but on page 1 there are a bunch "more" listed. I would think "more" would link you to page 2, etc.

Also, Micha's material tutorial doesn't have the sample file and/or materials/textures anywhere to download like it used to. Can you add that?

While we're at it, why not post those materials in the material library section? If Micha doesn't object, of course.

    Thanks,
    Craig

    Re: Tutorials Page

Hi Craig, I would prefer an other solution too, because I can not edit the tutorials anymore. I wrote an email to Corey, but no answer yet. I suggest to place the tutorials in a new forum section named "Tutorials".

My goal of the material tutorial is to show how it work. Most is very simple, basic stuff. But if somebody like, than he could take a material from the tutorial and post it at the material section too.

      Re: Tutorials Page

You are assuming that we are not as lazy as we really are! ;D
Also, I can't access the textures you used- I used to be able to.

Speaking of materials, I'm having a struggle to make the "coral reef" water material you used in the sailboat rendering in the gallery. Is that all one material or did you place the coral under water?

I am happy to report that gamma correction is working well. Also I have learned that catmull rom gives sharper anti-aliasing, which I like.

        Re: Tutorials Page

Hello, I'm one of the people getting this site running and fixing the bugs.

The problem with most of the links in the tutorials is that because of changing over to this better site the links have subsequently been broken. We will be looking into some sort of solution for the tutorials their are a few possibilities that we have. Overall we want to test it throughly first to make sure it does not bring down the site when we try and implement it, or add more problems.

Hopefully this will all happen soon.

Craig, the textures was at the old tutorial page too. I think, it will come back.
The ground under the water is a random deformed surface with a green-blueish stone/moos texture.

          Hi Justin, welcome.
