Lighting Entrance (exterior)

Hi guys, I am trying to light the entrance of a building for a night scene...what would be the best way to go about lighting these 2 stairways to showcase the architectural features. Additionally, any help in lighting the decks above would be much appreciated! I'm a rookie here...


hmm...no way to post the image...

Basically, it's a night scene of a building with two recessed entrances...I have tried using a rectangular light, but the effect isn't very good..

what kind of material or light did you use to get those lamps on the wall shine ?
I need that kind of self-shining lamps.. Is it possible to put your scene here ?
