  • Object reflections?

This might be a dumb question but is it possible to shut off object reflections? Like if there are two object in a scene and they are reflecting off each other? thanks in advance!

I know this problem too, if I render jewelry in a closed studio scene and the stones should show reflection of HDRI only. So, my wish is a option like this "show env reflection only".

yes, not only that but when rendering reflective metals such as gold or silvers on colorful or textured ground planes you get nasty metal reflections that massacre the metal.

also with the stones, if you have a light object like a rectangle light, it will block the env map on the stones as well. very frustrating.

But you could set the rect light "invisible", because the reflections are invisible too (it's on of my favourit VfR problems). So, the rect light should not block the env.

yes, but then if there is just a black env you loose the light reflection in the metal which then means you have env map the metal with something that looks like light. It's a mess.
