  • dual core or quad core

    Hello all,

I ´m looking for a new system and I ask me which will be the best for V-Ray (Rhino 4.0)?
Is it usefull to have a quad core processor and which graphic-card would you suggest?

    thanks

Re: dual core or quad core

Use a QuadCore and you will be happy. I use a Q6600 at 3GHz, low noise and low temp. ;D

Re: dual core or quad core

Pack as many processor you can in that thing, so that means quad core over a dual core, and if you can put 2 quads in there then go for it (mmm 8 buckets!)

As far as the graphics card goes, its underground knowledge that Nvidia cards work better with Rhino then ATI cards, so I'm not saying you should...but I'm letting you know Also, Rhino doesn't require as much graphics power as 3dMax or video editing software does, so something middle of the road will work fine. Make sure you get something decent (256mb video ram is pretty standard) but don't feel that you have to break the bank on the graphics card.
