  • Masks with Matte/Shadow materials and rendering lines

Is there such thing as the Matte/Shadow material to create masks in Rhino, as 3ds max has?

I am trying to render an interior scene which I have to add people to it. I want to add the people sillouettes in photoshop using a mask with an alpha channel. Is there a trick for that?

I also have a stone pattern that I have "modelled" in Rhino drawing lines which I would like to add as a transparent layer in Photoshop, to just add to the wall to emulate the joint gaps. In Max I can render lines even with specific widths. Is there something similar in Rhino or VRay for Rhino?

Thanks a lot for the help

We do not have a Matte/Shadow material comparable to 3dsmax at this time. Perhaps one of our users has a suitable way to emulate this behavior though?

I don't know max, but if I need masks, than I assign emitter materials. So you get constant colored objects for selection. If you like, set you "mask" emitter material black.
