EIZO FlexScan S2100 - not the cheapest, but this company build calibrated TFTs for computer graphic, so the know how is in the company. I'm happy with this monitor. Also the day light sensor is a nice feature - automatic adjusted brightness - good for the eyes.
Be careful with cheap monitors, maybe you see bandings at smooth gardients.

I've been looking at the eizo displays and the seem really nice except for the big hole they would leave in my wallet :'(
Ive read a lot about displays with pva-panels having trouble with input lag is that something you've experienced?
