  • Plexi glass with two different surfaces?

    Hi,

I need a fast help today. I must create a plexi glass sheet - one side no blur and the other side blur. Simple to create at the real world but how at Vray? Vray glass objects must be one single object (joined surfaces). I have no idea.

    Regards,

Re: Plexi glass with two different surfaces?

I found a solution, not the best, but it works. ;D

I create a glass material without reflectionlayer and assign it to the object. Than I create a glass material without refraction layers, but with reflection layers only - one material with blury reflection and one without blury reflection. This two materials I assigned to offset surfaces (offset 0.01 mm) above the original object. So, I got what I want.

My question stay - how can be solved this problem without offset surfaces?

Classical raytracer take in acount the normal direction of surfaces only. The surfaces must not be joined. Could it be possible to setup Vray in this mode? Could "disable volume fog" help here? Interesting problem or?
