where is the displacement???????????????

the manual says that the displacement check box is under the map for the material settings. mine only shows the bump box. why is this? is there something i'm suppose to change somewhere else in order to see it? also- the maunal shows a rollout under the vray options between the VFB channels rollout and the indirect illumination. i don't have any displacement rollout. PLEASE HELP ME. SOS

Simple answer: you installed an old version. Go to the download section and download the latest build for Rhino v3 or v4.

i did that already. under my files on the dowload page, there is... "V-Ray for Rhinoceros 3.0 version 1.0 SR1". i installed and am still getting the same problem.

then you will need to go through and make sure that you fully uninstall the first version, and then install the second version. Also make sure that you have the ability to access/delete those files as well as registry keys (ie make sure that you're an admin on your machine and that those files aren't in a protected folder...some people have run into this on their machines at work). Displacement is there, so its not like anybody's holding it from you.

ok. yeah- this is a work machine and i think the IT group has the serial number. i'll have to get that before i proceed i guess. i will try the uninstall. thx!
