  • Interiour glass - speed up render time

Do anyone have a few good advice for render settings, that speed up rendertime as much as possible, but still in presentation quality, when using a lot of interiour glass.

My scene contains: A toiletroom in a bigger room, 4 overlaping sheets of glass with reflections & refractions (fog colour + semi transp) interiour lights + GI through a window in the outher room.

The glass take extrem long time to render, otherwise its fine.

4 overlapping glass sheets...what do you mean by that?

You could check if the max. reflections/refractions is not an insane high number. Kepp this number as low as possible. When it becomes too low, you will immediately notice: glass (or parts) will loose transparency.

Windows glass - try to let your windows without glass, because most glass isn't visible from inside to outside.

General, if no refraction effect is needed (for example car window glass), only reflection and transmission color, than setup a material with a fresnel reflection layer + black diffuse layer. You can control the transmission color of my special glass by the transparent color of the diffuse layer.
