render only part of image?

Another question that I have a feeling will be a wishlist item...

Can we render only part of an image without changing the viewport or hiding objects? To just mask things off?

you always render a "part" of an image using the buckets :-X (under options/system/ region division)

maybe change the size of these to which size you actually need and use spiral as sequence.
