Hi all. I am working on a project where my facade has a curtain wall of a small perforated screen (a la De Younge Museum by H&deM)
is there any way to make a material to render as perforated (allowing the person to see past it?) or do i have to boolean out each hole (i really... really... REALLY hope i dont need to do this)
thank you!!!
EDIT: ok i just found the perforated black steel material in the material library. i download it, i re-map all the bitmaps, but i cant get it to render (at least in the material preview window)
when i hit preview the entire box turns black with a few white spots (i guess from the perforation)
i'm using the displacement mask texture
what i'm trying to do is basically that exact material just in bronze. if i can get this to work would i just change the color on the mapped bitmap to a bronze-ish color???
EDIT 2: k i got it to work with a transparency map.... kind of. is there a way to make sure that on a polysurface with a depth that perforations align with each other in section/elevation? and is there any way to make it so that in between these perforations it appears and renders as solid and not as 2 individual surfaces???
