  • rendering video inside animation

I know its probably not doable with vray/ bongo /rhino but is it possible to render a turntable animation of say a tv with video playing on the screen?

My boss dosnt like to take no for an answer unless i can absolutely prove it cant be done

    Re: rendering video inside animation

The straight forward answer of "can I push a button and get a video inside a video" is no. I'm not sure what the status is with animated textures within bongo (something I doubt very highly is there), but even still, there is no vray communication with bongo after the first frame (the same reason there is no motion blur yet)

However, where there's a will there's a way, so if you had the skills and another program or two you could whip something up. I have done some thing similar to this, but it was a custom scripted animation, so unless you already know how to do things like that you're pretty much out of options. BTW even to do that you'd need the movie as individual frames not one whole file, and if you've got a program that can extract those frames for you, then you've probably got one that you could comp it in after you render the sequence.

Hope that helps....for better or for worse :-\
