    Re: IES Lights

Final SR? Sounds great. Is 1.1.68 the final release?

      Re: IES Lights

Some questions for the IES light: What is the function of "color" and "filter"? How can I change the intensity of an IES light?

I installed 1.1.68, but the IES light isn't rendered anymore - doe's it work at other computers? Also after reopen the Rhino file the IES path is forgetten.

sorry guys, someone could explain me why i'm not able to make rhino lights work with my vray?
I create a light (spot, rectangular...), but nothing appears in render image

            Re: IES Lights

Maybe the intensity of the light is too low. Try setting the intensity at 10, 100, 1000, and so on until you start to see something.

              Re: IES Lights

well, once created a light in the object propriety I've changed the intensity value from 1 to 10000...but another time nothing...I really don't know why. the only way to change the light in model, I know, is to go in the environment setting, open GI(skylight) and change the default light with another added in sunlight sistem...poor me.
              any idea?

How can I control the IES light intensity in rhino without using an external application? what's the trick for it?

                  Re: IES Lights

Right now there is no control for IES light intensity. Technically, the IES lights should already be at the intensity that they were intended to be at, but we will be adding the ability to change the intensity in the future.

In the meantime, there is an free application that will allow you to change the intensity of IES lights, so you might try giving that a look. I'll try to get the link and post if for you.

                    Re: IES Lights

couldn't we get a hot fix for this? I mean, how difficult is it to add a multiplier to a light?

I hope it will be the near future - I prefer easy to control and complete features.

                        Re: IES Lights

Guys... IES Lights are NOT FULLY IMPLIMENTED! They'll be in there 100% for the next release, along with the other new light types. We're not concerned about them at the moment, because they're not really in there. We were actually considering removing them from this release, but a couple customers needed what little functionality we had, so we left it in there. I'm sorry that you guys seem to think that it's a new feature that we planned on letting everyone use, that is not the case.
                        Best regards,

                          Re: IES Lights

ok, in SR1 RC2, they worked fine, I managed a couple of renders with them. Now with the final release the command exists but whenever I render I get the same feedback "Cannot open IES profile "Z:\Bodega Diseño\IES\ies\20.IES"" What is the issue here? what can I do to fix this?

Sorry to be a pain guys, stilll don`t have a clue about IES in the final SR1. I allways get the message that the IES could not be loaded. This appears in the render progress window.

                              Re: IES Lights

I guess maybe it can't find the file "Z:\Bodega Diseño\IES\ies\20.IES". Is that path really valid? You have a folder called "Bodega Diseño"? If you ask me, that doesn't look like a valid folder name. Most likely it's an issue with unicode (non english) characters. Try putting the IES folder in a different folder, like "Z:\20.IES".

Again, IES lights aren't fully implemented, there's probably going to be some problems with it. The unicode path name bug was something we fixed for something else, so I guess we didn't fix it for the IES lights.
                              Best regards,
