  • asking help for the sun and lights setting, urgent for exams!

    hi to everyone here,
i use vray for both rhino & sketchup, learning to do the rendering by reading the manual of vray. my problem is that i did all default setting of globe, environment, camera...to ensure the showing of sun and shadow, but the rendering result didn't show any shadow at all, then i tried the rectangular light, with visible light checked, but it showed one black piece above the most simple cube that i set for try, no shadow still. then same happened to my sketchup vray rendering...

i have reading all concerning posts but didn't find the solution, very nervous cos it's close to the exams...

i appreciate any possible help from this forum. thanks!

    Hello yeweifirenze,

i am not sure but it could be that your sun problem is due to the fact that you did not create a sunlight system? If you do test renderings, make sure you have some structures in your scene that can cast shadows on your ground even when the Sun/light is 90 degrees to the floor. Concerning your rectangular light, it seems that you have to turn up the intensity a good amount to get it going in the physical environment.

maybe you can post some pictures...

thanks andy, i've chosen the sun and given it one position close to the objects, it's a arrow right, then as to the rectangular light intensity indice,i checked the default setting as 4 or 1 advised the manual. but i will try your suggestion to rise the setting, thanks & hoping for other ideas of my possible wrong setting.
